Be Prepared

Ben has brought with him an Apple ibook and a laptop PC. You might be thinking how can he possibly use two computers at once? So are we! Please tell us below why you think Ben needs two computers.

Tents Pitched

We have around 30 scouts and guides sleeping over tonight so we have a number of tents pitched on the school field. However, I'll be very surprised if any of them get used as most of the scouts will be chatting to Africa, the Middle East & Europe in the small hours of the morning.

Hope we don't run out of Marmite!

Marmite is one thing that Kiwi scouts insist upon at camp. Matt was really concerned that we might run out so he brought his own supplies with him!

We are off again .......

We are once again back at Cotswold School in Christchurch New Zealand to spend yet another weekend attending a Jamboree On The Internet. This year we have 40 brand new Pentium computers all kindly donated by the University of Canterbury and Christchurch City Council.

We are expecting well over 100 scouts, cubs, keas, guides and rangers to pass through the door this weekend. We have tents for sleeping, Roger for cooking, Papabear for moderating, Andrew for organising and Ian for blogging!

It should be a fun weekend!

Geek camp - for non nerds

wohoooo
one more sleep and we have our annual Scout Geek Camp - which is really for non nerds like me and urm - well - ok anyone really.
We have about 30 pc's set up - plus our own gear - could be as many as 50 computers logging on to Scoutlink!! I have created a temporary channel - #kiwi for us to meet in, should be good,
Now I just need to get my own gear ready and packed - hmmm lets see - what does one pack for a geek camp??

5 liters of high octane coke
10 kg of popcorn
some peanuts - roasted with smoky BBQ flavour
5 pencils - in 6 colors
one white lab coat
uhu - of course the obligatory note pad
some cools shades (hmmm I still got my "original NH glasses" - thick horn rimmed!!)

ok so the horse-with-no-name will be there as an unknown archer (watch out - he likes to shoot birds!!) and urm a certain male model . . . . .

On second thougths - i could bring my tutuu - i just have to take away any and all cameras . . . .
